Ha, Ha!!  Who is this SCARY person?  You - trying out a new APP your Dad added to his phone. We all went the the Australian Circus.  There were no animals but lots of exciting stunts, clowns, a man was shot from a cannon, and motor cycles rode round and round inside a revolving ball. It was Gumpie's birthday on the 8th so we had a special birthday dinner at home. You helped him blow his birthday candles.   You had your treatment for the year.  I don't think there is another child on earth as brave and accepting as you.  You don't even cry when the needle is inserted.   You were allowed a special treat - a movie and an ice-lolly!  You weren't the only one who had to go to hospital.  Muffy had to have an operation on her leg, and was confined to a small cage for 6 weeks.  She nearly drove you all mad with her barking and whining.  She isn't nearly as good as you are!

Hello darling Em, On the 17th February you lost another baby tooth.  This time you didn't swallow it!  I think the tooth fairy was very generous this time and left you paper money and a coin!   This is your lovely new facilitator/carer - Rebecca.    Strike a pose!  A lovely new dress and Tammy's glasses!   You and your Aunty Candice

Hello my darling Em, Your last day at school was fun and sad for you.  You received a 'Shining Star" Certificate for "being such a friendly and cheerful little girl and always trying hard to do your best."  A well deserved certificate my darling. You had a farewell party with your swimming friends and one of the mothers in your Grade surprised you with a Disco party in your honour. On Saturday you had Dad's company Christmas Tree party where you saw Santa.    You also went to the Sneddon Theatre to watch Puss in Boots.   You visited your new school where you met the Grade 2 teacher, principal, and had a tour of the school.  Now you have a nice long holiday with no extra work to do and lots of time for holiday play. On Monday morning Gumpie and I came back from our long weekend in Cape Town.  You and Tammy were there to meet us with a welcome home sign you coloured in for us.   The first thing we did when we...

OCTOBER 2015

Hello my darling Em, This has been a difficult month for your Mom and Dad and for you.  In your best interest they have decided to take you out of Fatima school and place you in La Lucia Primary.  The decision wasn't made lightly and they knew that you would be upset but sometimes parents have to do things for the best even though their children don't see it at the time. Although you are a bright, intelligent little girl with an exceptional memory, you struggled to keep up with the other children for the first few months at Fatima, especially in writing and other activities that required fine motor skills.  Children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta generally have normal to above normal intelligence but they might struggle with lax muscles that affect motor skills.  This means that they might need more time to complete tasks like writing or activities.  Fatima doesn't cater for children who need extra time or special care. Children with OI sometimes hav...
