 Hello beautiful girl!

I'm going to post two months at a time. Mainly because I don't see you that often now that you are at high school - WhooHoo!  

This is going to be a miletone year for you and your family when you move to another country in a few months time. 


You looked lovely in the white dress you chose for your first dance.





















But, you couldn't keep a straight face when you had your photo taken with your date.


One day he will wonder why he allowed Wendy to slick his hair into a side parting!



It was a very hot month but you and Mark found a way to cool off in the pool.




The BIG day arrived - you started at Reddam House in Umhlanga. 
You joined the choir and other extra curricula activities which kept you busy after school hours
.  


Mark had to have a small surgical procedure.  Always a worry but he came through it safely



Also in February, at the age of 2 years and 2 months, Alex started pre-school at June's in Westville.


Em, I can remember when you started going to Meriel's pre-school for a few days a week  in Heather Road, below our house in Westville. Tammy used to stay with you but you became quite adventurous!
Now you are in High School and your cousin in starting the long school journey as well.

Loving your journey and so proud of you, always!

 Hello my darling! The months are flying by too quickly.  In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new cottage and you'll be flying to your new country! Mark had a farewell function with his team in La Lucia.   Apil/May has a full calendar of birthdays and anniversaries in our families.   29 April - Sharon's birthday and Greg and Sharon's wedding anniversary on 2 May.  (And on the same day Ruby got her Visa to go with you to America!)  15 May - Mark's birthday   26 May Gregs birthday  30 May Mark and Tammy's wedding anniversary.   On 10 June Jeff and Gail had a farewell party for you at Simbithi.   Only the ladies were allowed to say a few words this time. JUNE 2008 - getting ready

Dear Grandchild,   A baby is such a precious thing. We humans must have a protective, nurturing gene that switches on when we know that a new baby is going to come into our lives. We are wired in such a way that even the thought of a baby switches on an emotional response. I've never really thought about having grandchildren. There didn't seem to be any prospect of having a grandchild in the near future and I didn't even think I wanted one. But, now that we know that you are on the way, I find myself thinking of your arrival as a momentous event! A brand new, never seen before, absolutely unique human being is going to come into this world in a few months time - and it will carry the genes of two parents, two sets of grandparents, great-grandparents, etc etc....... Its awesome!! Scary!! Exciting!! For the first few months of a baby's life it is completely helpless, defenceless and dependent on others. MAY 24TH 2008 - First movement

Great news! Tammy felt you move today for the first time! What were you doing? Changing position? Stretching? Sneezing? It was Tammy's birthday today and Mark treated her to a day at a SPA. It was there, while she was relaxed and being pampered that she felt you kick. It will be a while yet before anyone else can feel those movements. I remember when I was pregnant and could feel Greg, or Mark, kicking, I would lay Finn's hand on my tummy and say, "There! Did you feel that?" I was always so frustrated when he said no. Babies move about quite a lot in the womb and it always surprised me that Mark didn't sustain any fractures whilst he was curled up in that awkward position. Many babies with brittle bones fracture in uetro, some have dozens of fractures during delivery. Mark's was an easy birth with no fractures. He was a calm, happy baby and hardly ever cried.
