2011 Christmas

Happy, happy 3rd Christmas darling Em! You enjoyed last year's Christmas but this year you knew about Father Christmas and that you would have presents on Christmas day.
I wrapped lots of presents and put them in the end room cupboard. You found them one day and when I explained that they were for the grown-ups for Christmas day you were quite happy to leave them alone. That is amazing! I don't know many children who wouldn't have whined to open them or tried to get to them anyway.
This time you didn't cry when you saw Santa and at the Christmas Tree party at your Dad's office, you were quite calm when it was your turn to get your present.
 Two little Christmas fairies - with Shea, your au pair who will be going to school with you when you start next week.
 When you saw stockings under the tree for our Carling and Jenna you wanted to try them on!

I babysat you on Boxing Day so that Mom and Dad could go to Cricket.  We played picnic outside, you paddled in the sand-box filled with water and then dressed up as a rock star, playing your new guitar and singing in your Princess microphone.


 After New Year's day we all went to Jeff and Gail's beach apartment at Westbrook where you had a great time in this little blow up pool. You told Gail that her pool was stunning!

My darling Em, I was away for most of this month, walking the Camino to Santiago with Gail.  You know that Jeff had a big operation on his throat and neck last year after being diagnosed with throat cancer.  Afterwards he needed chemo and radiation and Gail cared for him and stayed with him during his treatments.  This meant that they couldn't walk with Gumpy and me in Italy to Rome.  Gail was very disappointed but I promised her that when she was ready, I would walk with her in Italy or Spain.  She chose Spain and on 9th May we flew to Spain to start our Camino. Tammy sent us photos of you while we were away and on your Dad's birthday we spoke to you all on Skype.  We missed all the May birthdays and the birthday dinner. You did your 400m swim while we were away.  We were so proud of you Em!! You had an outing with Mecayla. The mermaid swimsuit I'd ordered for you was  delivered - you look great in it - like a princess mermaid!

MAY - JUNE 2023

 Hello my darling! The months are flying by too quickly.  In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new cottage and you'll be flying to your new country! Mark had a farewell function with his team in La Lucia.   Apil/May has a full calendar of birthdays and anniversaries in our families.   29 April - Sharon's birthday and Greg and Sharon's wedding anniversary on 2 May.  (And on the same day Ruby got her Visa to go with you to America!)  15 May - Mark's birthday   26 May Gregs birthday  30 May Mark and Tammy's wedding anniversary.   On 10 June Jeff and Gail had a farewell party for you at Simbithi.   Only the ladies were allowed to say a few words this time. There were too many emotional men talking at Gumpie's 80th birthday and Gail and Tammy decided the ladies could do a better job!
