September Post

Hello little Em,

Your great-grand-mother (granny Laura's mother) passed away last month.  She was 76 and suffered from diabetes.  While Tammy helped her mom with the funeral arrangements and clearing out the unit at the retirement village where she lived, Gumpy and I fetched you from school and brought you home with us.  It was great to spend more time with you.  One of the days we had a tea party for the musical dolls.

Mary is the oldest of the dolls, she sings 'Mary had a little Lamb':  Incy sings"Incy Wincy spider" - Twinkle, sings 'Twinkle, twinkle little star" and Roxy sings "I'm a Rock Star". Sometimes you let Barney sing with them too. He sings "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family.."

On Friday morning we went to the Grannies and Grandpas concert at your school.  I remember when you were in the baby group and now you are in Grade R in the 'big' children's group.  Your group recited a poem called 'Weird' that started with the words, "My granny joined a Jumba class, I thought she had arthritis!"  You were all dressed in 50's rock and roll clothes and you all did the twist!

The Grandparents had to do the twist too - here are Gavin, Gumpy and Laura trying not to twist!!

You and Courtney - your carer at school
 You and your teacher

When you come to our house you have a little ritual.
First you want to see Dax and Josie, Jacques and Delano's puppies

Then you want to give Cherub water - which often ends up with you in the pool!

Then we visit Carling and Jenna's grave site at the bottom of the garden.
You made up this little song for Jenna.

Then we go for a walk around the garden, and sometimes outside as well.
On Friday we walked 1km around the block and pretended that we were walking in Spain!

On Saturday you went to rugby with Mom and Dad.  Sharkie and you at rugby!!
