JUNE 2020 - Dear Emily

Hello my sweet girl,

Level 3 started on  Monday 1 June. But, as the numbers rise each time the President relaxes a lockdown we might go back to a higher level.  Some people think relaxing the level means that the virus is retreating but its not.  We have lived through Level 5 and Level 4 so Level 3 shouldn't be too challenging, although most of us are tired of not being able to visit our families and would like to get back to some sort of normality.  We know now that our old normal has gone and we'll have to try to settle into a new normal, which could include masks (like they wear in some Eastern countries) seasonal outbreaks of Covid 19, never shaking hands, kissing or touching friends or acquaintances.

I wanted to give you all something to remember Muffy so had these mugs and a mousepad done.  Your Mom was holding her on our deck at Westville and the group photo was taken at Muffy's last Christmas and our first Christmas at Sandown.

You love to do your nails, and your Mom's nails.  I know that you want more
nail polish for your birthday - and money!

You are still studying from home.  In history you're learning about Ancient Egypt.

Your dining room at home has become your classroom and you have posters on the walls
and all your books, pens, pencils, koki pens etc on the kist.

Sometimes you are disturbed by a visitor from next door!  You are waiting to hear if you'll have a Bordoodle puppy in a couple of months.  I wonder if the visitor will like the new puppy! (This is what the puppy could look like!)

You love to dance and often send me short videos of your tap dancing, modern and freestyle.
YAY!!!! We visited you guys - just for a little while.  You sprayed our hands when we arrived and we walked through the garden gate so that we didn't have to go into your house.  It was SO nice to have tea and hot-cross buns with you and see you 'in the flesh' instead of a little picture on a cell phone!

I sent some biscuits to you that I made using your recipe on your YouTube channel and when you bit one, your front baby tooth got super wobbly!  That night your Mom was able to take it out so now you have a gap and your adult teeth have more space to come down.

The little girls with you are from your village.  Mom and Dad are a little concerned that they come to visit with no masks and sometimes disturb your school work 😕

👼 Guess what??  Greg and Sharon are going to have a baby!!!!  You are going to have a your first real cousin!

Last week Greg invited Gumpie and me to have lunch with them.  We thought it was a strange invitation, given that we are not allowed to make social visits to families or friends, so we said no thank you.

"Come for tea then," said Greg.  "You went to Mark and Tammy's for tea, you can come to us for tea."  Finn and I decided that we would go and agreed to go for a short while to have a coffee or cold drink with them.  It was while we were there that they told us that Sharon was pregnant and that her baby was due in December...!!!!

WHAT???  HOW??  WHEN??  We were flabbergasted!  Why were we so surprised?  Well, Greg and Sharon knew when they got married that would probably never have children.  In May they had been married 11 years - Greg is 45 and Sharon is 43.

Nobody ever thought that Greg and Shaz would have a baby and 10 years ago they each bought a puppy which became our 'Grand-puppies'.  But,  when a new little angel needs to be born miracles happen!

I'm sure the new baby is going to love his older cousin!  And we all have enough love to welcome a new grandbaby!💓
