Training for a swimming gala

You have been training for a swimming gala and when you swim in our pool, you dive off the side into the water!  You swim more under water than you do on top and you can even float on your back. 
When you and I swim we play 'Paralympics' and you line up on the steps, then I have to announce the event, "Ladies and gentlemen, we now have the pink hair-pin race.  Emily Nilsen from South Africa is in lane number 5.  On your marks, get set (Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) go!!"  and you take off like an otter in the water.  And, of course, you always win!    You take after your Daddy who was a wonderful swimmer and went to the Paralympics in Atlanta as a swimmer. (He won his heat and was in the final but they changed his classification from S6 to S7 so he didn't really have a chance against all those standing swimmers.)  But you are a real little fish in the water!

My darling Em, I was away for most of this month, walking the Camino to Santiago with Gail.  You know that Jeff had a big operation on his throat and neck last year after being diagnosed with throat cancer.  Afterwards he needed chemo and radiation and Gail cared for him and stayed with him during his treatments.  This meant that they couldn't walk with Gumpy and me in Italy to Rome.  Gail was very disappointed but I promised her that when she was ready, I would walk with her in Italy or Spain.  She chose Spain and on 9th May we flew to Spain to start our Camino. Tammy sent us photos of you while we were away and on your Dad's birthday we spoke to you all on Skype.  We missed all the May birthdays and the birthday dinner. You did your 400m swim while we were away.  We were so proud of you Em!! You had an outing with Mecayla. The mermaid swimsuit I'd ordered for you was  delivered - you look great in it - like a princess mermaid!

MAY - JUNE 2023

 Hello my darling! The months are flying by too quickly.  In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new cottage and you'll be flying to your new country! Mark had a farewell function with his team in La Lucia.   Apil/May has a full calendar of birthdays and anniversaries in our families.   29 April - Sharon's birthday and Greg and Sharon's wedding anniversary on 2 May.  (And on the same day Ruby got her Visa to go with you to America!)  15 May - Mark's birthday   26 May Gregs birthday  30 May Mark and Tammy's wedding anniversary.   On 10 June Jeff and Gail had a farewell party for you at Simbithi.   Only the ladies were allowed to say a few words this time. There were too many emotional men talking at Gumpie's 80th birthday and Gail and Tammy decided the ladies could do a better job!
