We went to iMfolozi for 4 days during the September holidays.  It was lovely to be back in the bush.







Granny Laura picked up a tortoise on the road and moved it out of harms way.



















Soon after we got back there was news about the Pfizer vaccine
being approved for minors,12 to 18 year-olds, in South Africa.  There is a good chance that after you've had the vaccination you might go back to school full time.  That would be good for you Em.  You haven't been able to see or be with your friends for 18 months, since March last year.  In a couple of weeks time you'll be a T-t-t-t-t-t-...... teenager 😱 ... a scary thought!  Also, once you have been vaccinated, we might all be able to get together again as a family.  Covid really kept people away from each other but now we might be able to carry on with our 'new-normal' live

Sharon still drops Alex off at your house every second week and you and Mom
look after him on a Wednesday and Thursday.

My darling Em, I was away for most of this month, walking the Camino to Santiago with Gail.  You know that Jeff had a big operation on his throat and neck last year after being diagnosed with throat cancer.  Afterwards he needed chemo and radiation and Gail cared for him and stayed with him during his treatments.  This meant that they couldn't walk with Gumpy and me in Italy to Rome.  Gail was very disappointed but I promised her that when she was ready, I would walk with her in Italy or Spain.  She chose Spain and on 9th May we flew to Spain to start our Camino. Tammy sent us photos of you while we were away and on your Dad's birthday we spoke to you all on Skype.  We missed all the May birthdays and the birthday dinner. You did your 400m swim while we were away.  We were so proud of you Em!! You had an outing with Mecayla. The mermaid swimsuit I'd ordered for you was  delivered - you look great in it - like a princess mermaid!

MAY - JUNE 2023

 Hello my darling! The months are flying by too quickly.  In a few weeks we'll be moving to our new cottage and you'll be flying to your new country! Mark had a farewell function with his team in La Lucia.   Apil/May has a full calendar of birthdays and anniversaries in our families.   29 April - Sharon's birthday and Greg and Sharon's wedding anniversary on 2 May.  (And on the same day Ruby got her Visa to go with you to America!)  15 May - Mark's birthday   26 May Gregs birthday  30 May Mark and Tammy's wedding anniversary.   On 10 June Jeff and Gail had a farewell party for you at Simbithi.   Only the ladies were allowed to say a few words this time. There were too many emotional men talking at Gumpie's 80th birthday and Gail and Tammy decided the ladies could do a better job!
