NB:  The worst country is the United States.

 9,28m cases : 231 000 deaths

Coronavirus cases in the U..S. surpassed 9 million on Friday, with most states spiking again to highs not seen since the July peak of the pandemic. That total is the most of any country, with the global tally of COVID-19 cases now above 45 million.

This comes as Johns Hopkins University’s data reported a record number of daily cases cases nationwide Thursday at 88,521, with 30 states having seen record daily totals during the month of October. Three states — California, Texas and Florida — account for more than a quarter of all U.S. cases.

PREVIOUSLY, October 23: The New York Times reported that hospitalizations have jumped more than 40% across the country in the past month, raising concerns that the healthcare system could be overwhelmed. That would drastically increase the mortality rate, as Americans needing hospital care would be left to face the virus on their own.
